1

Create your vault

Open the app and choose a strong passphrase. This encrypts all your data. Write it down or store it in a password manager — there is no reset.

Tip: Use a memorable phrase like "my-first-car-was-a-blue-1998-honda" — long and personal beats short and complex.

2

Set your currency

Click the currency selector in the top bar (default: USD) and choose your primary currency. All values will display in this currency. You can change it anytime — underlying data stays in its original currency.

3

Add your investment accounts

Go to Portfolio → "+ Add account." Enter the account name (e.g., "Growth"), broker (e.g., "Interactive Brokers"), and currency. Add one account per brokerage or pension.

4

Add your holdings

Click "+ Add holding" for each security. Enter the ticker, shares, cost basis, and current price. Or use "Paste from spreadsheet" to import many holdings at once from Excel or Google Sheets.

Tip: The app searches 216 tickers across 32 exchanges. Type the ticker and select from the dropdown.

5

Set up your budget

Go to Budget. If this is your first time, the app creates 14 starter categories. Edit the planned amounts and actual spending for each category. Add your income streams (salary, rental income, dividends).

6

Add bank accounts

Go to Bank Accounts → "+ Add account." Enter each bank, account type, currency, and balance. These feed into your net worth calculation and cash flow forecast.

7

Set financial goals

Go to Goals → "+ Add goal." Name it, set a target amount, currency, and deadline. Track your progress over time. Goals appear in the dashboard insights and financial calendar.

8

Explore the dashboard

Return to Dashboard. You'll see your financial health score, portfolio value, net worth, insights, and a weekly summary — all calculated from the data you just entered. Press ? to see keyboard shortcuts.

Optional next steps

Track tax residency

Go to Tax & Residency. Log days per country, run the UK SRT test, and monitor 183-day thresholds across jurisdictions.
